Comment from Camille Mauro

I have a full-time job. I have health issues that prevent me from working a second job straight after work. With Postmates, Uber Eats, etc. I am able to work when I want and earn the extra money to pay bills. I have family and my health to think of. If I get sick, it is much better for me to go straight home rather than ask for time off and get docked or fired for it. I have had to run home several times due to IBS symptoms. Because I am over 50, no one will hire me as an employee of their establishment or corporation. I also sell AVON because of this. The older you get, the harder it is to find a part-time job. They want younger and cheaper. I know they are breaking the law doing this, but no one does anything about it or comes down on these corporations for it. If you try to regulate the gig economy, you will be taking extra income or from people who are trying to balance their young families and working. For me, it is better to be an independent contractor than an employee for a second employer due to my personal health issues and family.
