Comment from Vanessa Canas

I’m a single mother. Uber has given me the flexibility to stay with my son and not be an absent parent with no time to spare for her child. It’s important for me to retain this flexibility and income to survive in an already difficult environment as a woman alone with a child and with financial responsibilities just like anyone else. I’m able to be present for my son, educate him, Nurture him, advise him, play with him and not let him fall into the dangers of being raised by the unknown because I’d be too busy trying to make a living for us. Children from single parent (and minority) households have a higher risk of not forming a healthy, successful, And socially responsible life for themselves. I hope you will all do what is right for us who are trying their best to make it in this world righteously and with good intentions for the future and what we want to contribute to it. In my case, it’s leaving a well-rounded and educated man after me.
