I operate my own business as well as drive under Uber’s app. If I were ever forced to be an employee of theirs or have to schedule certain hours to drive, I would cease my relationship with that opportunity immediately. Flexibility is 100% Paramount in my relationship with Uber’s app. I am not and should never be made to be their employee. I do not use their equipment, I use MINE! For years, even in the limousine industry, the IRS has had an extremely gray area concerning employees. In regions where most limousine services had contract laborers for drivers that was allowed, but where most limousine services add employees, then that was considered what you had to do. Incredible that the IRS can operate under such flimsee rules.
