Comment from Christopher Gregg

As a gig worker in the rideshare industry, one of the main things that makes this job feasible is the flexibility it offers. I have a 6 year old daughter in another state and I am responsible for all transportation when I get my time with her. Without this flexibility, I would not be able to see my daughter as much as I currently can. Honestly, the biggest drawback to this type of work is the inability to find affordable insurance for myself and my family. That is what needs to be fixed with this type of work. We do not need to be considered employees. If that were to happen, we would lose the flexibility that we currently have, and would honestly have no reason to continue in this line of work.
