Comment from David Brink

I don’t care what type, or amount of benefits come with being termed an “Employee” rather than an Independent Contractor, relative to driving for a RideShare company such as Uber or Lyft.

The TOP PRIORITY for me and most all Uber/Lyft drivers that I have ever spoken to is the FLEXIBILITY of days and hours worked. If I was looking for a 40 hour per week job with benefits I would go out and get one.

What attracted me to driving Uber/Lyft was the fact that I could drive virtually any hours of the day/night that fit my schedule, and that nobody could tell me when and/or where to work. If I am providing my time and providing MY CAR for the work that needs to be done, I SHOULD BE IN CONTROL.

Additionally, since most Uber/Lyft drivers drive for both companies, who would make the determination of which company I would or should become an employee of? The whole thing is silly on it’s face. I don’t want some bureaucrats making decisions as to what is or is not in my best interest.

Please leave us alone and let us continue working the way that we have been!!!
